PT Budi Tamora Permai is a wood working manufacturing company specializes in Rubberwood (Hevea Brasiliensis) Finger Joint Laminated Board. BTP was established in 1993, and is currently located in Tanjung Morawa, approximately 18 km away from Medan, the Capital City of North Sumatra, Indonesia. The company has endured and overcame numerous regulatory changes and other challenges over the years during the world market shake-up, and were able to further expand itself to become a wood working manufacturing company that it is today.
Rubberwood (Hevea Brasiliensis) is considered to be one of the most ‘environmentally friendly’ plantation hardwood, because the source is harvested from a renewable source, unlike other timber species that are cut down for the sole purpose of producing furniture and other timber products. As forest resources are diminishing, we believe that only sustainable species like Rubberwood can be a very good substitute for increasing demand of timber products in the future.
Indonesian Merkusii Pine/Sumatran Pine (Pinus Merkusii) is very different with Rubberwood. It is also a plantation wood, but the replanting program for this specie is very rare as it also takes about 20 years for the Pine tree to grow up to the size suitable for sawmill or wood processing. Unlike Rubberwood which is planted for the latex production, this Merkusii Pine is planted only for the resin/natural pine tree oil production only, and usually in very small quantity.
